Held on 8 April 2026 at the Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies, this seminar by Prof. Yvonne Dohna Schlobitten revisited the antique concept of Theoria and responded to the crisis of thinking in modern sciences. It proposed that contemplative seeing can open a new perspective on identity and that works of art are spaces of encounter with identity. The seminar is important because it asks how we recognize the identity of the artwork and what it teaches us about our own identity, restoring knowledge through reflection rather than technical speed alone.
On 9 April 2026, the second seminar focused on identity, memory, and the limits of AI. Using Paul Cézanne, J. M. W. Turner, Claude Monet, and Marina Abramović, Prof. Yvonne Dohna Schlobitten examined the being of art, participation in nature and creation, and contemplative seeing as a path to knowledge.
