The Aging in Dignity concert marked the official launch of the AI Applied Ethics (AIAE) program at the World Ethics Institute of Peking University and articulated one of our core missions: to reflect on Confucian ethics in the face of a deepening crisis of filial piety in aging societies, now further complicated by the inescapable reality of artificial intelligence —the world of energy systems, chips, and infrastructure.

We sincerely thank the Austrian Cultural Forum for co-organizing this event, and the artists Matthias Fletzberger and Jakob Steinkellner for their commitment to supporting elderly communities. In Austria, musicians often visit elderly homes to perform for seniors who can no longer access concert halls. This practice exemplifies a form of Western filial piety that transcends blood ties and focuses on humanistic
care.
